Due to the recent collapse of the building in south Florida, owners may have questions about the structural integrity of buildings A, B & C at Moonspinner.
The Moonspinner has a long history of conducting waterproofing / spalling projects every 7-10 years on all 3 buildings.
These projects are very extensive. They include, but are not limited to: removal and replacement of waterproofing, stucco, sheathing (wall board), exterior wall studs, evaluating spalled concrete (deteriorating concrete), removing and replacing concrete and rebar, as needed.
These projects have been overseen by an engineering firm that provides specifications on how repairs are to be completed. Engineers perform onsite inspections to ensure that completed work conforms to specifications set forth in the scope of work.
In the May 15th Board of Director’s meeting, the board approved a proposal from Mott MacDonald engineering firm to conduct an evaluation of all three buildings, in order to determine and prioritize items requiring attention.
