Governor’s Update May 15, 2020

Several expanded orders will go into effect on May 18 which is being called “Additional Phase One”. I have listed these expansions below.

Vacation Rentals: The Governor states that the vacation rental ban will remain in effect in Florida. There is still no date given for when this ban will be lifted but is encouraging the counties to submit a plan on how Vacation Rentals will operate for when the time comes. When we reach phase 2 (whenever that may be), we will only be allowed to rent to Florida Residents with 72 hours between each set of guests. Once Bay county submits their safety plan, the decision to open will be based on that.

Restaurants and Retail Stores:

He announced that restaurants and retail stores are now allowed to reach 50% capacity.

Gyms, Libraries & Museums:

Gyms will now be allowed to open but social distancing and proper sanitation practices must be maintained. Libraries and museums can also allow 50 percent capacity starting Monday.

Amusement Parks:

Amusement parks can provide a plan on opening up that must contain protocols and approved by health officials. Gov DeSantis doesn’t expect this to happen anytime soon, but wants them to be prepared for when the time comes.

Gov. DeSantis states that Phase 2 will occur when there is a downward trajectory in the syndromic and epidemiology criteria. For this to happen there has to be no evidence of a rebound of resurgence of Covid-19 cases.

This information came directly from www.obawebsite.com. They have been a reliable source of information and will promptly post any update from the Governor.

Just a reminder, if you are at the Moonspinner please continue to exercise social distancing and proper sanitation practices for the safety of you and others. There are a lot over owner’s coming in so we just need to be mindful of others.

In the meantime, have a safe weekend!
