COVID-19 Update

To the Moonspinner Owners,


The Covid-19 Pandemic is a serious issue that we should not take lightly.


With that being said, we must take personal responsibility to educate ourselves from reliable and factual resources, so that we can take the necessary precautions to isolate and prevent the spread of the virus.


Bill McGinn, Paul Defenderfer, Debi Jennings and I are onsite the property regularly and have seen, firsthand, the impact Covid-19 is having to Panama City Beach and the Moonspinner.


We have made the following decisions, based on the information presented to us from reliable sources and our direct experiences. We will consider any new information from the CDC, county, state and federal government, and adjust our initiatives to combat the virus accordingly.


  1. Signage on the front office door, “No more than 10 person(s) inside of the office at once.”

  2. Hand sanitizer will be placed in the front office for use, while supplies last

  3. Signage at the security entrance and front office, “If you’ve had a fever or have traveled outside of the U.S. in the last 14 days please call the Bay County Health Department at (850) 872-4455.”

  4. Pool decks remain open, with half of the lounge chairs removed from both the sun and pool decks, to prevent crowding.

  5. The hot tub maximum load has been reduced to 2 people, until further notice.

  6. The gym is closed, until further notice.

  7. Our beach chair service is separating chairs and placing cushions on every other chair to prevent crowding.

  8. CDC guidelines will be placed in all elevators and information will be given to rental guests upon check-in.

  9. Housekeeping is bleaching all doorknobs, regular knobs, handles, and surfaces.


Below is a list of responsibilities for Security, Maintenance, and the Front Office employees, until further notice. All employees will receive a copy and follow these guidelines to protect themselves, their peers, our owners, and guests.


COVID 19 PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN BY MAINTENANCE STAFF, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

  • BLEACH/SANITIZE ELEVATOR BUTTONS AND DOORS, INSIDE AND OUTSIDE, 3X A DAY: MORNING, NOON, AND BEFORE LAST MAINTENANCE EMPLOYEE LEAVES FOR DAY

  • SANITIZE YOUR OFFICE AND ALL DOORS AT BEGINNING AND END OF SHIFTS

  • SANITIZE DOORKNOBS UPON ENTERING AND LEAVING UNIT

  • BLEACH ALL DOORKNOBS, ONCE A DAY,

  • GLOVES MUST BE USED WHEN ENTERING/EXITING UNITS, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST

  • SANITIZE TOOLS AS THEY ARE BEING USED

  • MAINTAIN CLEAN AND SANITIZED WORK AREA INCLUDING DESKS, COMPUTERS, PHONES, CHAIRS, ETC. REGULARLY

  • SANITIZE WALKIES AT LEAST TWICE A DAY

  • SANITIZE ALL PERSONAL MAINTENANCE KEYS REGULARLY

  • SANITIZE ALL LIGHT SWITCHES

  • SANITIZE ALL LOUNGE CHAIRS BY POOL EACH MORNING

  • SANITIZE POOL RAILINGS AT LEAST ONCE PER DAY

  • SANITIZE DRINK MACHINE AT LEAST TWICE DAILY

  • SANITIZE ALL HAND RAILINGS, STAIRWAY RAILINGS, TRASH CHUTES ETC. AT LEAST TWICE A DAY

  • CHECK HOT TUB AND POOL CHEMICAL LEVELS REGULARLY. IF THE LEVELS ARE OFF, MAINT WILL CLOSE POOL AND HOT TUB IMMEDIATELY UNTIL THE LEVELS ARE BACK ON TRACK.

  • SANITIZE ALL KEYS BEFORE GIVING TO GUESTS OR PUTTING BACK IN KEY BOX

  • SANITIZE ALL PENS BEFORE AND AFTER GIVING TO GUESTS. (HAVE SEPERATE PENS FOR GUEST AND PERSONAL USE)

  • MAINTAIN CLEAN AND SANITIZED WORK AREA INCLUDING DESKS, COMPUTERS, PHONES, CHAIR ARMS, ETC.

  • GLOVES WILL BE USED WHEN ENTERING AND EXITING UNITS, WHILE SUPPLIES LAST

  • SANITIZE DOOKNOBS UPON ENTERING AND EXITING UNITS.

  • SANITIZE WALKIES AT LEAST TWICE A DAY

  • SANITIZE ALL PERSONAL SECURITY KEYS REGULARLY

  • SANITIZE ALL LIGHT SWITCHES

COVID 19 PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN BY FRONT OFFICE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

  • SANITIZE ALL LIGHT SWITCHES, DOORS, AND DOOR KNOBS/HANDLES ONCE EVERY TWO HOURS THROUGHOUT SHIFT

  • SANITIZE PENS AND KEYS BEFORE GIVING TO GUESTS AND UPON RETURN. (KEEP SEPARATE PENS FOR PERSONAL AND GUEST USE.)

  • SANITIZE ALL SURFACES: PHONES, KEYBOARDS, CHAIRS, DESKS, STAPLERS, STAMP MACHINE, COPY MACHINE REGULARLY ETC.

  • SANITIZE KITCHEN AND BATHROOMS AT BEGINNING AND END OF SHIFT

  • WASH HANDS BEFORE AND AFTER HANDLING ANY PACKAGES

  • SANITIZE WALKIES AT LEAST TWICE DAILY
